This mix may contain some sounds you’ve never heard before.. sounds that walk a thin line between r&b and dubstep. Smooth, futuristic, emotional at times. This mix could work at the right club, but it’s also good music to just vibe out to.. especially during these cold months. And, by the way, it has a lot of bass, FAT BASS. So please, turn it up, groove out, and share if you enjoy. More soon. Peace..
What? I’m still trying to figure that out too. You shoulda been there. A bunch of dope DJs and fly people.. also big up American Dreaming Magazine, you guys are awesome and have an amazing space for events. Big up to Johnny Rabbit for these pics too.. check em all out here > jonnyrabbit.com
Huuuuge ting on NYE. PHSH (illvibe), Ferno (3D), Smacked (Primo), Gianni Lee (BC), Rex Riot and myself giving you primal vibrations all night. A dub gets you an open bar so don’t even front. Plus, check the spot. Something new for yall. I can’t wait for this.
This is the only picture I could find from it tho. Check out my new haircut!
This was my first time back in Philly and my first time spinning back in the States AND it felt so good.. it warmed my heart to see everybody shoutout to you guys. This was a WORLD-CLASS show. Like if this was in London it would probably been sold out. So it was really special that we were all able to share dope music in such an intimate way. Muhsinah and Hezikiah killed it. Big up Jade Alston as well. And of course I gotta show love to the one and only Yuie.. he threw 10 shows for Philly in 2011, his first year of event organizing. Respect.
Here we go again. The second (and most likely final) look into my adventures in London. I’ve done some traveling as well.. there’s shots in here from Paris, Amsterdam, Scotland, and more. Make sure you stay till the second half.. I got a bunch of crazy footage from I did up in Shoreditch, East London.
lucky enough to link up with the lovely @DeeJay_Dibs.. she decided to have me on her radio show with Rare FM. Here’s my set. Mostly Hip-Hop with a little bit of that moombahton flavor at the end. Enjoy!
Here’s a little glimpse into my experience in London so far. Coming out here was the best thing I could of done. So much new inspiration. I’m getting better at capturing the dope moments.. but honestly I missed so many haha. It’s better to be caught up in it anyways. The video blogs will keep coming and they’re only gonna get better. Shoutout to alla yall.
Here are some highlights::
- That shot at the beginning is right by where I say in Kings Cross.. it’s a huge tube/train station. There’s always people arriving in London from all over the world there. And it gets PACKED during rush hours.
- Then you get some shots of some random cool stuff. Footage of Big Ben, inside Parliament, inside the Bloomberg building, and at BBC studio 1. Chyea.
- Some DJ stuff! We found this secret little record shop.. forget what it was called but they had a bunch of house and bass records. And people were actually buying them. Check out that blue/white tie-dye viynl..
- I was lucky enough to get hooked up with tickets to the BPM DJ convention.. one of the biggest of its kind. Catch me scratching, some other dude, and an ill routine from DJ Raspy.
- We went to Brixton for no reason and ended up on the roof with The Buffalo Skinners. Good times haha.
- Partytime! The clubs here are wild and most stay open till 4 or so. These are some shots from Proud Camden and Cafe De Paris where my homies DJ Bruce Wayne and the Dixon Brothers were spinning. And yes, she really snorted a condom and pulled it out her nose. Yum.
- There are a lot of street performers in London. The people come together.
- The last thing is a little shot from my job at Ultra DJ MGMT. More on that soon.
SYLOinLONDON. For real this time. It’s pretty magical out here. I’m taking a few classes (stay in school kids!), working at a DJ Management company, and exploring all that London has to offer. I’ve linked with some folks.. gigs will come.. but the biggest reason I’m out here is for a serious change in scenery, a rush of new inspiration and influences. It has been amazing so far and we’re just getting started.
This is a party mix. Kinda fast music. A little bit of house, b-more club, even some random party bangers. Make sure you play it LOUD.
The calm after the storm didn’t last too long. Irene did her best to ruin every event on the east coast.. but she couldn’t stop TU. 1000+ students (mostly freshman.. I think yall might be the craziest class yet) filed into the Liacouras Center to rock out with Chiddy Bang plus Temple acts Chocolate Milk and B Eazy.
I did my thing between sets. You gotta work hard to keep people entertained while they wait for the headliner! One of the hypest moments was when I dropped DMX – “Party Up In Here” bahahah. Or maybe when I hit the dubstep. My favorite joints I dropped were “Not Just Knee Deep” (bigger reaction than I expected) and the Keenan and Kel Theme Song. One dude got incredibly buck to that one haha. I saw you man.
And yo check this. At the end of Chiddy Bang’s set they brought us all back on stage to jump around. Big up Yofray on the cam.
The next post I’ll make will be from London! Ima miss you all.. but I’ll be back soon. Peace.
